Reception Center for PARN SHYR DESIGN Co., Ltd.
Ingeniously utilized structure and landscape construction techniques and paired them with lighting coordination so that light and shadow are interwoven, achieving a Zen visual effect. The designer worked with the original structure of the two-story building and used minimalistic design techniques to cleverly resolve the irregularities and structural restrictions that existed in the space, further transforming defects into advantages, and creating a transparent and open artistic space. The green landscape is introduced into the interior from the outdoors, presenting a modern garden impression.

Unique Properties
Ingeniously utilized structure and landscape construction techniques and paired them with lighting coordination so that light and shadow are interwoven, achieving a Zen visual effect. With the addition of oriental elements such as a bamboo forest, lattices, works of calligraphy, and lotuses, an oriental-styled artistic space full of was created. At the same time, the green landscape is introduced into the interior from the outdoors, presenting a modern garden impression rich in Zen style.

Production Technology
With a modern and fashionable palette of Zen-style materials, such as black-color metal, darkened mirror glass, black-color crystal acetate, grey-color paint color, linear-pattern ebony, brown-color sandblasted glass, striped and monochrome carpet, linear-striped wallpaper, and snow-white-color marble, etc., they complete and complement one another very well. Basic Non-Toxic and Non-Hazardous Types: Unpolluted and slightly processed decorative materials that are natural with zero.
Design Challenge
A bold design featuring an aesthetically embellished and revamped structural column as the main visual focus was implemented on the first floor. For the second floor, the front-end vista provided a transparent visual effect to replace originally incomplete platform that cannot bear too much weight, so as to elevate the interior as well as connected the cultural section of the second floor. The design not only brings relief to the irregularity and limitation of the original space but synergize the original landscaping element and artist calligraphy pieces in dramatically elevating the aura of culture and art.

Operation Flow
Through complementing this raised vertical line with landscape construction techniques, interior spaces on every floor are interconnected, creating a bamboo-forest-like visual effect, which stretches upward. Adding oriental elements such as a bamboo forest and lattices and combining them with lighting design presents a visual effect where light and shadow are interwoven. Calligraphy works written in the cursive script on the walls and the semi-stereoscopic lotus pond oil painting installation art construct the impression of a modern garden in the interior.
Research
In this project, sustainable metal building materials were utilized to form raised vertical lines, which connects every floor indoors. Also, materials such as black bake-painted metal pieces, wood pieces, smoky gray, black glass, striped carpet, wallpaper, black acrylic plates, and snow fox marble slabs were used to present modern fashion and Zen elements. In addition, the designer also made an in-depth understanding and application of green building and green building materials.
Inspiration
The reception center takes the theme of "Fashionable Oriental Zen" and draws inspiration from garden landscapes. The designer worked with the original structure of the two-story building and used minimalistic design techniques to cleverly resolve the irregularities and structural restrictions that existed in the space, further transforming defects into advantages, and creating a transparent and open artistic space.
