Christmas Decoration for Impactplan art productions
An ephemeral art installation inspired by the "Midas touch", composed by 1.000.000 golden sequins to attract good luck and fortune! To create a tunnel effect were used different size chains from 1 to 6 meters long that move with the wind, shine and create reflections in the surrounding area, depending on the incidence of light. Hidden in the middle of the golden dots, 2880 meters of golden led light curtains light up in the night involving the viewer by transforming their state of mind!

we used 2600m2 of reinforced PVC net, to affix 1,000,000 sequins about 90mm in diameter each, in chains of variable sizes minimum 10 pieces approximately 1000 mm in length up to maximum 60 pieces 6000 mm in length, in order to create the tunnel effect we created a central section with approximately 1000mm in length and 4 lateral sections where the length grows as we move towards the outer side of the installation. Every 1000mm we placed a Led light curtain in golden tones with a length between 500mm and 1000mm, so that they are hidden between the golden sequins and surprise at the end of the day when the lights turn on
The main challenge for us was to create a "portable" art installation with this size and finding solutions to transport and build it quickly in place. We developed a fixation system in a net that allows to be rolled up and divided into sections compatible with the needs, which made it easier to transport and to build the installation quicker in site. This project involved a lot of artisanal work in its preparation and involved more than 100 people and hundreds of hours of manual work during 2 months of assemblies. On-site assemblies involved about 20 workers local labor for 8 days
1 month from December to January 2019/2020 The Ritz Carlton, Bahrain kingdom, Manama
people who pass by this art installation are not indifferent they take pictures and share with family and friends, making it alive and live longer trough peoples good memories and pictures
we drawn peoples attention by creating impact so we use a formula for our art installations based on what we observed during the years, for example finding a colorful place in the middle of a grey city, will definitely drawn peoples attention. The staring point is always using intense and vibrant colors, unusual objects in unexpected places, to provoke immediate comments, feelings reactions
The inspiration was the beautiful subjectivity in the legend about the touch of Midas. The one with the Midas touch is the one who has the ability to make something prosper, multiplies profits, turns everything it touches into gold. With this in mind we decided to create a golden tunnel where people enter and do not turn into gold but the environment transforms their state of mind for the better, happier, lighter...
