Due to the limited size and spatial scale of the site, the design team changed the spatial form by inserting two square boxes to break the narrow spatial pattern and extend the overall spatial vision, and created an atrium that is rarely found in the city, which is connected to the trees. The roof is designed with circular skylights to bring in scenery and light, giving the space a natural and rich appearance through the changing seasons and the flow of nature, creating a utopia in the city.

The office screen is made of glass with a waterfall texture, which creates a sense of light flowing through the space like silk flowing. The floor and walls of the atrium are made of stable, waterproof and recyclable plastic wood, combined with textured carpets and wall decorations, which express the style and characteristics of the space through these natural materials and textures.
The scale of the space is enlarged by settling the atrium enclosed by two building volumes. In order to remove these bottlenecks, the design team extended the eaves outward at a large angle to magnify the visual height of the building, and directed the view of the pedestrians inward through the lines, making the building a unique presence in the congested alley.
This project started in December 2020 and finished in March 2021 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
The base is located in a rainy city, so the roof is designed with a sloping surface to take advantage of its slope for cleaning through rainwater. With the drainage gutter on the roof and the gutter next to the base, the narrow rectangle space shape in the alley and sandwiched between houses can cope with all seasons.
Several trees grown at the site became the most important design factor in this case. The designer only used the front and back space for functional planning, leaving the middle area for the trees to grow and naturally form a scenic space. The design of the atrium also changes the behavior of the users, allowing them to relax in the midst of their daily work. In this busy city, it brings in a touch of nature to the staff and guests who are visiting here.
The shape of the space may change, but the trees will always be there. In order to preserve the trees adjacent to the site, the concept of quietness in the midst of noise is used to raise the scale of space, allowing the building to respond to the environment with a pure white appearance. By implementing the idea of simplicity and core design elements, the design allows the form to be born randomly and the building to coexist with nature.
