Residential for Chiyan Interior Design
This project uses color and material to express the autumn mood. The vitality of spring and the lush green forest of summer are the brightest moments of the awakening of life. When autumn comes, the vitality concentrates the essence of spring and summer and finally waits for a new cycle to begin in winter. The mood of the space is the essence of the transition from autumn to winter. The designer used gray tones to show the power of stability, and the low saturation of the color is visually more stable.

The designer used the connotation of autumn representing time to keep the space vibrant. Used a large pedestal rock for the TV wall. The scale of the TV wall provides a smooth visual effect with details and textures expressed through the material. The poetic image of autumn is born to balance the depression of the visual. Under the cool tone, the designer used dark brown materials and warm light to decorate partially. The details are made of wood veneer, mineral paint, mirror, and other materials to show the signs of time flies. The ruggedness of nature serves as a canvas for the family's daily life.
Autumn, dark color, grille, nature, industrial style.
Building materials, eco-friendly artificial pedestal rock, eco-friendly mineral paint, wear-resistant and eco-friendly SPC flooring, mirror, iron grille, plant pattern wallpaper. Under the cool tone, the designer tried to present rich layers with dark colors. For example, the flooring of the living room and dining room is defined by different shades of brightness. The dark wood flooring has a slightly warm orange color that is similar to leather, while abstractly representing the image of fading leaves.
Due to the client's preference for a dark tone, the designer used gray, black, and brown substantially. However, staying in a dark space for a long time will make people feel depressed. Therefore, the designer used low-saturation dark colors to make the space brighter. Moreover, the designer integrated warm brown tones in the dark space to present the poetic scene of autumn twilight.
The project finished in October 2021 in Taiwan.
The key to a comfortable home is that 'every space has a perfect scale'. Whether it is the entrance, living room, dining room, or study room, the designer has planned the space with sufficient function and comfort. At the same time, as each space is clearly defined, the designer used glass or flooring to create a connection. Furthermore, the designer allocated some of the private space to the open-plan study room, so that the study room is complete and meets the client's daily needs.
The designer used dark wood grain, plant patterns, warm light, and other elements to inject vitality into the dark space. The atmosphere of autumn seems frozen, making the poetic aesthetic unique. There is a kind of silent beauty in autumn, less exuberant in summer and less desolate than in winter. The space presents the beauty of late autumn, which is a balance of hot and cold temperament and vitality. The low-saturation yet textured building material highlights the vitality in the internal recess, while the grayscale color gives people a sense of stability.
The project is inspired by 'Autumn' and is based on the dark colors and industrial style proposed by the client. The designer integrated low saturation and gray materials into the space. At the same time, bright elements such as plants and warm colors were added to the details to create a mild yet intense image. It is like autumn, without the summer's bustle and winter's silence. When the flowers fall out, the faded things look depressed but do not lose vitality. The visual is in line with the client's preference for dark colors but does not give people a depressing feeling.
