Intelligent Kettle for Edenus Art Co.,Ltd
This kettle is specifically designed for tea enthusiasts to use in a serene tea room. It adopts advanced infrared sensor technology, allowing users to switch it on and off by waving their hands in the air. It only receives information from close range and single-direction movement, with intelligent recognition to eliminate misleading signals. With multiple safety designs, the handle and kettle body are fully insulated and never conduct electricity. The power contact points are completely hidden, preventing water reflux, leakage, overflow, and heat scalds.

This is a water kettle especially suitable for tea lovers to use in a quiet tea room. Based on the oriental tea ceremony culture, the kettle is designed to simplify the relationship between humans and machines (the kettle) and to reduce unnecessary interactions, so as to keep the environment quiet and let tea makers feel relaxed and more focused. Its design demonstrates a delicate balance between culture and function, conveying a peaceful visual experience and also facilitating water pouring.

The trapezoidal pot body has a stable center of gravity, forming a "line and plane" contrast with the handle and base. Also, the base is made of cast iron, which increases the suction force with the table surface and maintains the overall stability of the kettle. The heightened base increases visual layers and at the same time provides the function of storing electric wires. More importantly, the power interface is located in a higher position, perfectly avoiding the potential safety hazard caused by water entering the power interface.
The principle of the gesture-sensing switch: two infrared sensing components are used to send the data collected within a certain time range to MCU Firmware for recognition. When a human hand waves above the infrared sensor, it will emit signals to the receiver. Therefore, after the sensors trigger signals from two angles in sequence, MUC can recognize human behaviors and turn on or off the power supply accordingly.
The project was developed in Xiamen in March 2021 and launched in China in November 2022.
Infrared Sensor Switch The designer subverted the traditional operation mode and applied an infrared sensor to the handle. The on/off gesture operation is highly user-friendly. Users can boil water by waving a hand above the sensor light bar from front to back and stop heating by waving in the opposite direction. The operation gesture is similar to some moves of Chinese Kong Fu that are freely retractable. The gesture-sensing loop handle also echoes the spirit of the oriental tea ceremony.
Currently, most kettles on the market look either heavy or dull. For this kettle, the designer subverted the traditional operation mode and applied an infrared sensor in the handle. As a result, users only need to wave a hand back or forth to start or stop boiling water. It's very convenient. Additionally, the non-contact design takes good care of users' psychological needs as it ensures safer operations.
The pot type of Sitting Meditation is developed from the concept of Taste Zen in Tea. The round handle and trapezoidal pot body outline a Zen meditator. The column support base with a heightened bottomforms the image of a meditator sitting cross-legged in the air, which makes people feel the poetic realm of forgetting both things and ourselves. To better conform to users’ sitting posture while making tea, the thickened handle design not only makes it easier for users to hold but also saves effort in pouring water into the teapot. The transition of the handle from thin to thick is inspired by the simple and fluent brushwork of Huai Su,a Chinese cursive calligrapher of the Tang dynasty.
