Production Technology
Technologically, it features a 14.2-16.2mm diameter wool diaphragm speaker, Qualcomm chip, Bluetooth 5.3 technology, call noise reduction, personalized app settings, both wired and wireless charging options, with a total battery life of 32 hours. Craftsmanship-wise, it is crafted with a mix of materials including zirconia, 18K white gold-plated copper, CNC machining, molded ABS, integrating production standards and safety standards from both the jewelry and electronics industries.
Design Challenge
Open Wearable Stereo accessory earphones defy classification, competing with headphones and targeting the fashion accessory market. Initial enthusiasts in China, mainly from major cities, drive the trend, gaining traction in surrounding communities. OF HUNGER, China's pioneering fashion brand for electronic wearables, aims to redefine fashion and technology in the smart era. The OF HUNGER Wearable Stereo earphones mark the brand's first mass-produced products, innovatively creating a paradigm for "electronic wearable fashion," seamlessly blending fashion and technology.
Project Duration
The project started in Beijing in 2022, was completed in 2023, and was officially released in the Chengdu offline experience store on August 10, 2023. It will also be sold in online stores such as Tmall, Douyin, and Xiaohongshu.
Operation Flow
Open the charging case, your phone's Bluetooth will recognize "Of Hunger," click to connect and start using. Features include listening to music, making calls, using voice assistants, and AI conversation. Control volume, song switch, and calls with touch. Through the app, switch modes, adjust sound profiles, and earphone lights provide status notifications.
Research
Merging fast fashion accessories with wireless headphones is both innovative and eco friendly, reducing the need for extra accessories and minimizing waste. Sustainability is key, with the product allowing style updates by altering the bridge shaped structure. From a business perspective, it's gained popularity in China, with users actively sharing experiences on social media. This user driven promotion contributed to enduring success. Launched during Paris and Shanghai Fashion Weeks, it expanded to Europe and Australia, propagating the concept of "electronic wearable fashion" associated with the brand.
Inspiration
For fashion-forward women who prefer open-style earphones, traditional industrial design earphone types do not meet their needs for fashionable wear. The goal of this design is to create a new product category that combines jewelry accessories with wireless earphones in various styles. The aim is to provide an item that not only has high-quality earphone functionality but also exudes a high level of fashion. In doing so, we have resolved the conflict between ear accessories and headphone wear.
