Production Technology

Reinforced concrete forms the structural system. The facade features insulated glass and aluminum cladding. Passive shading elements support energy efficiency. The green terraces and rooftop gardens include advanced waterproofing, root barriers, and drainage layers to ensure long-term performance and integrate vegetation at different levels.

Design Challenge

The main creative challenge was to ensure the continuity of the organic form not only on the facade but also across the ground and upper floors. Curved boundaries required a layout beyond the conventional grid system. Floor plans were carefully optimized to support a fluid spatial experience both horizontally and vertically, maintaining consistency of form throughout all layers.

Project Duration

The design phase began in October 2024 and was completed in December 2024. Located in Adana, the project sits on a vibrant and socially active urban axis. Its positioning aims to foster strong interaction with the surroundings while contributing to sustainable urban life and dynamic public engagement.

Operation Flow

Sakura Nest connects residential, office, and public spaces through a permeable ground level. Terrace gardens on upper floors allow residents and office users to engage with greenery across different levels. Pedestrian flows are enhanced through integrated paths and social zones, offering a dynamic, multi-level spatial experience.

Research

We explored how organic forms can ensure spatial continuity in mixed use structures beyond conventional grids. We researched the impact of multi level green integration on user interaction and how terrace layering and curved boundaries influence circulation, density perception and urban experience.

Inspiration

The project is inspired by the organic flow of nature and the human need for green interaction in urban life. It aims to soften rigid city grids through natural forms and layered terraces. The name of Sakura, symbolizes renewal and harmony, influencing the architecture to embrace softness, sustainability, and seasonal rhythm in both form and material.
