Duo reinterprets bathroom furniture through a sculptural and fluid geometry that moves beyond conventional rectilinear typologies. Emerging from an expressive hand drawn study, the design translates organic curvature into a production ready modular system. Integrated storage, ergonomic clarity and material contrast establish a balanced spatial composition. Duo demonstrates how expressive form can coexist with industrial precision, maintaining usability, structural stability and manufacturability within a refined contemporary language.

Crafted in black natural veneer with contrasting burl veneer detail, the design integrates ergonomic storage and a circular mirror with integrated shelf. Production Technology
Duo combines handcrafted aesthetics with industrial production logic.The organically curved surfaces are cnc milled to achieve precision in repeated serial manufacturing while preserving the sculptural softness of the form. The fluted vertical textures are engineered for modular panel production, optimizing material usage and minimizing waste. Structural components are reinforced internally to support the freestanding configuration. Integrated lighting and concealed fixing systems are designed for seamless assembly. The project transforms artisan character into scalable, repeatable production.
Design Challenge
The primary challenge was translating an organic sculptural geometry into a structurally stable and serially manufacturable product. Unlike conventional rectilinear bathroom units, the curved vertical surfaces required precise cnc calibration and multiple prototyping phases to control tolerances and material behavior. Maintaining storage efficiency and ergonomic functionality within a non linear form demanded structural reinforcement solutions without compromising visual purity. Balancing artisan aesthetics with industrial feasibility was the most critical obstacle resolved during development.
Project Duration
The design process began in April 2024 in Bursa Turkey and was finalized in January 2025. The product was developed and manufactured in Bursa Turkey.
Operation Flow
Duo supports a seamless daily routine through intuitive interaction and visual clarity. The handle free push to open system provides effortless access while preserving the purity of its curved form. Soft close mechanisms ensure silent movement. The countertop ceramic basin allows ergonomic use and easy maintenance. Integrated LED lighting and the anti fog mirror enhance visibility and support uninterrupted comfort.
Research
The research explored how organic sculptural geometry can redefine conventional bathroom typologies without compromising functionality. User experience analysis informed ergonomic access and integrated storage within compact spaces. Prototyping and cnc based manufacturing tests translated curved forms into serial production components ensuring dimensional accuracy and structural stability. The result proves that non conventional geometry can remain scalable and usable.
Inspiration
Inspired by the fluidity of water and the timeless textures of nature,Duo translates organic impressions into a sculptural bathroom ensemble.The design embodies a dialogue between contrasts:raw industrial expression and refined craftsmanship. Its flowing forms echo natural rhythms, while the precision of materials and construction reflects modern sophistication.Duo is not only a functional piece but also an emotional statement,where natures poetry is reinterpreted through contemporary design.
