Exhibition Center for Tengyuan Design
In this project, designers achieved the space consistency through smooth scenarios. Cloud is chosen to be the spirit of experiment area, the continuity is achieved by five scenarios, respectively are entry from the Gate, step on the Cloud Bridge, pass the cloud mansion, walk into the Cloud Sea, tread in Book Yard and travel in Green Valley. Coming near the exhibition center, a picture of mountain and water salutes the eye. The architectural roof extracts the shape of alpine ups and downs. The central part create a sense of multiple ranges of hills by antique copper drawn aluminum square.

The experiment area is a breakthrough for the spatial definition of "stacked yard, symmetrical axis, broad opening and closing". It reaches the spatial continuity by smooth scenic design. The sales office echoes the mirror water like a landscape painting. The regional planning extracts three elements of Jimo ancient city respectively are "ritual sequence, central axis and courtyard". The courtyard runs through the main axis step by step and merges with the architectural space.

The architectural roof extracts the shape of alpine ups and downs as dark grey metal verge board. The central part create a sense of multiple ranges of hills by antique copper drawn aluminum square. It develops a sense of contrast between reality and reality with glass curtain wall as background. At the entrance, the elements such as Bogu framework, Dougong and lantern of the local ancient city are extracted.
In the design process of the project, due to the tight construction period, designers constantly use the model to explore the combination relationship of building volume, materials and space. The continuous deformation of the curved roof is deduced to develop a sense of overlapping peaks. The selection of materials has also gone through repeated deliberation which presents a certain viewing experience in a short time.
The project started in January 8, 2019 in Qingdao and finished in June 25, 2019 in Qingdao.
Through the continuous investigation of Jimo culture and habit, designers get acknowledgement of the local residents' feeling for mountains and rivers. It also gave us the design inspiration for this time. The setting of mirror water realizes the connection between the building and the site by forming a complete picture. Jimo's landmark site is to be built based on the principles of construction period, cost, client's expectation, quality and risk.
Jimo district is a famous historical and cultural city with a history of 1400 years. It is one of the roots of eastern Shandong culture, an ancient Chinese cultural city and a famous commercial city. Designers should respect the local culture in the design and respond design to the local culture. At the same time, local cultural characteristics shall be used in the design. Take cultural return as a breakthrough point to create a new life style of fashion, implication and cultural temperament.
The greatness of a man lends glory to Jimo, which originated from the integration of spiritual mountain and holy water. The inspiration came from the spiritual mountains, water and cloud. Designers intend to develop a brand new Neo-Chinese style exhibition area with the theme of layer-spread mountains and overlooking view on the cloud. The exhibition area adopts the theme of "Guanlan Yunju"and extracts Chinese traditional element of ritual order to develop the whole planning structure.
