Gym for XU Studio
Nowadays, as people's expectations for health and the pursuit of beauty become more and more intense, fitness space has become a real dream-making place. In the project, a continuous loop of the design language through the ground, facade and top surface of the shape connection, the whole space connected in series, and from the entrance to the motion space unlimited continuation. Combined with the theme red in the space, the designers used the form of light, so that students in the space can follow the changes in music and lighting, fully ignite their dreams.

Unique Properties
The designer suspended the slogan "People need smile, life need fitness" of R Fitness in the form of luminous characters hanging in the air, which can be seen at a specific angle, adding to the fun of the space. The red box-shaped aisle connects the entrance to the fitness area. It is composed of LED lamp tubes with different sizes and stainless steel water corrugated mirrors. In the reflection of light and shadow, the light and red color overlap and intersect, full of a sense of drama.

Production Technology
To match the LED lights, the designers used slashed metal meshes to cover the entire space, echoing the white slashes on the ground, and thus a strong sense of movement and extension comes into being.
Design Challenge
As required by the course, the fitness studio has strength and relaxation exercises, but the space is limited. The designers designed the lighting of the whole room, white and red lights can be switched at random, and with background music correspondingly, it meets the needs of different types of courses.
Project Duration
The project started in January, 2019 in Shanghai and finished in April 2019 in Shanghai.
Operation Flow
Taking it into account that the second floor lateral entrance was not conducive to visual guidance, designers used the street exhibition surface to fully present the circular shape in the interior space with the store facade to the urban interface. And multi-effect facade lighting devices were installed on the street exhibition surface, allowing R Fitness to talk to people in the city in a special way at night.
Research
With the improvement of living standards, people need to exercise and relax according to their needs, and the fitness studio was born. XU Studio bring the concept of "light" into the design. Through lighting, simple materials have also become rich and interesting. With lighting settings, they can freely Switch scenes, red lights are used for short-term strength training, and white is used for regular training and relaxation.
Inspiration
Light has been incorporated into many works by many artists to convey the philosophy contained in it. The way light and space interact, sometimes light sculpts space, other times space shapes light. R Fitness, a new fitness brand, provides students with professional strength training. Designers hope to shape the space through the light, and stimulate the students' desire for sports and fitness with strong visual impact.
