Exhibition Center for YuQiang & Partners
Designers absorbed wisdom from Richard Sierra as he discussed the relationships between art, space, and audiences. The space fully conveyed the image of Prince Plaza as an urban aesthetics application platform from five perspectives, the city, space, buildings, people, and art. Visitors can feel the pulse of the city from its heights. In this office tower, shaped like an art gallery, designers created a modern commercial office exhibition space with a theme of energy.

The image of Prince Plaza as an artistic center and urban aesthetics application platform are fully conveyed from five perspectives: the city, space, buildings, people, and art. A glass wall, resembling a luminous installation piece, effectively divides the space, forming an artistic space in the style of Richard Sierra. Based on connection between the city and the natural environment, the designers organically combined mountains, water, and the city to create three viewing platforms.

Palissandro blue marble and acrylic form the rudiments of the building, and the office skyscraper rises up to draw attention. The designers extracted different modern forms and shaped the metal works to outline the resplendent skyline of this area. The glass wall, with a strong sense of flow, is integrated harmoniously with the city view, so that the office space explodes with dimensional field energy.
The most challenging part of the design process is the research on office pattern. The rate of space utilization of traditional offices often increased by setting multiple cubicle. However, designers have broken away from the conventions, and designed the truly future work space. For the production, while both the aluminum plates and the glass are polished, and all the plates are cut in the factory to be more exquisite, it is difficult to achieve the expected effect.
The project started in February 2017 and finished in September 2019 in Shenzhen.
The designer made the overall space lighter and more transparent through metal cutting and the creation of lighting effects. A quiet and comfortable corner provided by Mutto's Oslo series sofa, and an immersive experience created by the scientific and technological multimedia exhibition hall. At the same time, the traditional giant desks are replaced by the smaller and open desks. The clear lines and blocks subtly balance the warmth of the office and the interpersonal relationship in modern society, which increases the interaction between staffs.
Designers would like to take advantages of the project sight and location to make a harmonious space with sense of mobility, especially in the front hall. Also, they hoped to construct the partition wall like the sculptures made by Richard Sierra and then choose aluminum and glass to create an artistic space.
Composed of a horizontal series of commercial buildings and vertical office buildings, Prince Square is richly endowed with a unique mountain and sea landscape. The architecture was designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture. In this office tower, shaped like an art gallery, designers created a modern commercial office exhibition space with a theme of energy. Our designers also absorbed wisdom from Richard Sierra as he discussed the relationships between art, space, and audiences.
