Kinetic Earrings for Sybarite Jewellery
These earrings are asymmetric, which was inspired by the duality of Day and Night. One earring is depicted in white gold as Fairy of the Day, with diamond flowers and an emerald heart. The other earring, Fairy of the Night, is depicted in black gold, with a ruby heart and diamond stars. The design of the piece was combined with its technical side while maintaining it lightweight. First, a 3D model was created and grown by prototyping on a 3D printer. The cast was made in gold and polished. Then, 403 precious stones were fixed into the base product and the parts were connected.

Unique Properties
These earrings are an asymmetric duo. Moreover, there are two hidden secrets designed specifically for these earrings. One white gold earring is depicted as a Fairy of the Day, her dress adorned with diamond flowers and an Emerald Heart within. The other earring, Fairy of the Night, is depicted in black gold: her Ruby Heart is in the light of white diamond stars and the crescent moon.

Production Technology
Developed in the 3D Matrix program for the jewellery industry based on the Rhinoceros program, a 3D model was created. After the fairies were grown by prototyping on a 3D printer from wax, the cast was made in gold. They were processed by hand and polished with jewellery threads, for the perfect shine of the gems and showing their cut, clarity and colour. After that, 403 precious stones were fixed into the base product and only then the parts were connected into the final figurines.
Design Challenge
The number one challenge is to combine the design of the piece with its technical side while maintaining it lightweight, wearable and ergonomic.
Project Duration
The project started in January 2020 in London and finished in January 2021 in London. The overall process of production, improvements and quality check took about one year. These earrings have never been exhibited before.
Operation Flow
The earrings have multiple wondrous features, such as hidden details, moving legs, ruby and emerald hearts, and different individual faces.
Research
Traditionally, jewellers have created static pieces for thousands of years. By adding movement to the jewellery I allow our pieces to come alive, inspired by the beauty of magic and nature. As a jeweller, my concept is to find ways to introduce kinetic effects and hidden secrets that are a unique joy to own.
Inspiration
This project was inspired by the duality of Day and Night and my sincere belief that all women have something magical about them, just like Fairies. Asymmetric and contrasting, yet with their secrets alike, this duality demonstrates how different and similarly spectacular women can be any time of the day. No matter the appearance or skin tone, age or beliefs, all of us are mesmerising Fairies, gifting our magic to the dearest ones when our hearts are filled with love.
