Sales Center for DSC Design

The project is situated in Wuhan, China. It translates local natural and cultural contexts into narrative scenes themed by contemporary heaven of peace, fitting the attributes of the project. Modern architectural curved languages break conventional interior design methods. Geometries are staggered and stacked under the large frame, releasing infinite tension of anti-gravity structural aesthetics. The large-area staircase enables the space to grow upwards. Relaxing and pleasant sensory feeling leads people to a tranquil book world that brings an immersive and healing spatial experience.

Unique Properties

The project continues the artistic design languages of building facades. The design team blended humanism and naturalism into the interior. To set the benchmark for future ecological resorts, the design team shaped a brand new humanistic community that integrates commerce, art and nature into a whole. Reading & coffee scene, negotiation & sales scene, and interactive & instagrammable scene are incorporated into the overall immersive space, evoking imagination about and resonance with future life.

Production Technology

1. The curved brand wall and the huge LED screen are naturally coherent, responding to the annular suspended ceiling. 2. A large amount of hyperbolic surfaces and customized materials, such as the seamless wood-like panel on the suspended ceiling, and the seamless special artificial stone on the floor, bring a natural and integrated spatial feeling.

Design Challenge

Due to the distinctive architectural form and lots of hyperbolic shapes, it was a big challenge to integrate and unify the interior and the architecture and ensure the practical effect of construction techniques. Besides, how to achieve a good lighting effect in such a large space posed another great challenge to the project.

Operation Flow

The curved surfaces and lines and large-area blank form an abstract context, which highlights the charm of spatial atmosphere, naturally shows the fluidity of interior structure, and produces a waving, textured and soft aesthetic. The varying walls guide circulation routes. The landscape narrative techniques, which combine the virtuality and reality, break the spatial dullness and arouse emotional variation, with artistry stimulating people's curiosity to explore the immersive space.

Research

In addition to functionality and aesthetic value, the design attempts to pacify the inner world and slow down the pace of life. The design expresses art and touches the hearts of people. The boundary between the interior and the outside is gradually resolved. People can enjoy reading, chatting, sunshine and shades while sitting under a tree. The project performs a future composite format and redefines the relationship between people and nature, allowing people to embrace ecology and themselves.

Inspiration

Huangpi District is located in Wuhan, China, enjoying beautiful natural sceneries, known as "Back Garden of Wuhan". Two developers Sunac China and Wuhan Urban Construction Group worked together to build the world-class tourist destination Wuhan Resort here, practicing the value system of urban co-construction. The project is the sales center of Wuhan Resort, a large-volume cultural and tourist complex. DSC DESIGN was entrusted to carry out the creativity and execution of interior finishes.
