Pegasus waste: Nappa leather, Fly fabric and seatbelt in Vetiver Terracotta and Skyline colors. Waste of seat foams and textile backings. Made with recycled materials from airbag fabric of NIO, metal/leather leftovers, and Karuun wood.
The challenge in innovation is how to convey the understanding of sustainability to users through NIO design in a unique style. The "Home Away from Home" Concept Furniture Series is exactly an exploration that Blue Sky Lab launches to pioneer future home lifestyles.
The project was launched in December 2020, and debuted at Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition in April 2021.
You can place the lamp in the middle of the room, on a dining table, or outside on the balcony. The leather band allows you to hang up the Cotton Cloud. The POUFF Collections comes in 3different sizes and trims and can be used as extra seating or to decorate an unused corner of any room.
At Auto Shanghai 2021, NIO Life displayed the Blue Sky Lab, a fashion project about auto recycling. Recycled leftovers in auto manufacturing are used to produce fashion collections with an exclusive logo of auto recycling, conveying the environmental protection through material recycling. NIO expects the Blue Sky Lab to create a pleasant and sustainable lifestyle for people. This series will also be a long-term one further collaborating with global designers and brands to launch new products.
Blue Sky Lab "Home away from home" concept furniture series is mainly made ofthree kinds of car-grade materials, namely surplus seat belt fabric, airbag material and Haptex leather in automobile manufacturing, creating fashionable collections through recycling.
Home Away from Home Furniture has been a Iron winner in the Furniture Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Iron A' Design Award is awarded to good designs that meet the rigorous professional and industrial standards set by the A' Design Awards. This recognition is reserved for works that demonstrate a solid understanding of design principles and show creativity within their execution. Recipients of the Iron A' Design Award are acknowledged for their practical innovations and contributions to their respective fields, providing solutions that improve quality of life and foster positive change. These designs are a testament to the skill and dedication of their creators, showcasing their ability to address real-world challenges through thoughtful design.
