The work created for Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra is a music-driven dynamic brand identity aiming to revive the visual appearance of the orchestra. Its creators have invented an alternative musical language, by which any melody can be visualized within the set of guidelines defined. The identity allows for each member of the orchestra to build their own personalized logo, related to their favorite piece of the repertoire. Moreover, due to a custom developed logo design application, even the audience could become an active part of the identity renewal process.

This music-driven dynamic identity aimed to revive the brand of the chamber orchestra. The team invented an alternative musical language, by which any melody can be visualized within the set of guidelines defined. The identity allows for each member of the orchestra to build their own personalized logo. Moreover, due to a custom developed logo design application, even the audience could become an active part of the identity renewal process.

The new brand identity was introduced by a complete redesign of the orchestra’s website and other digital channels, which was then promoted by the “Can you see the music?” outdoor and online campaigns. The communication concept launching the new identity emphasized that from now on music can be heard, felt as well as seen. The new identity was published in February, in Hungary.
The idea was inspired by some favoured piece of music in the orchestra’s repertoire. By bending the five-line sheet music system into a circle, a brand-new musical language and design concept was created. Virtually any piece of music can be notated this way, meaning it can be visualized within the set of guidelines defined by the designers. Making music visible to anyone. Due to the dynamic nature of the identity, each member of the orchestra could create their own personalized logo.
Can You See the Music Dynamic Identity has been a Silver winner in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design award category in the year 2021 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
