Classroom Renovation for MisoSoupDesign
The specialized classroom serves as an experimental environment where children engage in fundamental scientific practices such as observation, inquiry, hypothesis generation, experimentation, and inference drawing within the natural realm. As education evolves, classrooms must adapt to contemporary needs. In addition to updating essential equipment, provisions for convenient access to and from the classroom are imperative. Spatial reconfigurations aim to facilitate increased interaction between teachers and students, fostering a relaxed and conducive learning atmosphere.

The specialized classroom is an experimental space. In the realm of nature, children engage in crucial steps such as observation, questioning, hypothesis formation, experimentation, and drawing conclusions. A new type of classroom must adapt to the progress of the times. Apart from updating basic equipment, it should also provide areas where children can easily come and go after class.

Wood carpentry and on site painting
The creative challenge of this project is to create the connection between the main classroom and the small library space next to it. The semi-circle opening connects the two spaces as students going through the gate for their explorations. Therefore, the design challenges the controlling student's emotional states by choosing the color and material.
The project started in December 2022 in Taipei City and finished in August 2023.
The classroom is designed for science experiment class where the teacher performs in front of students prior to the students conduct their experiments. Therefore, the U-shaped students desks are facing the teacher and large touch screen at the center of the classroom.
This project is a part of renovating educational space for younger children, such as elementary, junior, and high school. The principal of design approach is to enhance student's exposure to the high aesthetic standard while learning at their school.
The space is divided into two main areas: the primary teaching area and the exploration area. The teacher's preparation desk is arranged in a place where students can easily be seen entering and exiting for management purposes. Additionally, a handwashing station is added to significantly reduce the time spent on washing equipment. The curved ceiling symbolizes centripetal force towards learning and represents the sky of the universe and curiosity about nature.
