Outer Sleeve Antique-textured specialty paper with debossed imperial seals. Gold foil stamps highlight the Vintage brand and tea brick details. Refillable design reduces packaging waste.
Design Challenge
Vintage resolves the ritual-portability paradox through a threefold symbolic system (mountain/tea/fingerprint textures). We translated imperial seals into tactile geometric patterns, paired with a 4g brick (phonetic "Four Seasons" in Chinese) that bridges nature, tea, and human craft.
Project Duration
Project Timeline: Initiated in Shenzhen, China (September 2024) and delivered as a market-ready packaging system by January 2025
Operation Flow
Ritual Reboot Removing the belly band becomes a ceremonial unboxing act, mirroring Gen-Z's cultural pride in China's heritage. Functional Luxury 18 golden bricks arranged in vault-like precision. 20-second brew ritual balances extravagance and efficiency.
Research
Vintage addresses tea-drinking challenges for mobile youth by reinterpreting Qing emperors’ seal motifs (Qianlong/Yongzheng) into minimalist icons. The 4g brick, phonetically echoing “Four Seasons” in Chinese, is gold-foil wrapped as a cultural time capsule. Its modular system (replaceable FSC-certified trays) enables 20-second brewing anywhere, boosting reorders by 300% while educating sustainable habits through packaging reusability and material circularity.
Inspiration
In fast paced urban life and frequent travel, modern individuals seek moments of respite through natural rituals that soothe the body and mind. Vintage embraces "Tea Accompanies the Seasons," distilling the rich flavor of Yunnan ancient tree Pu-erh and the serene aesthetics of Eastern artifacts into a 4g portable "Four Seasons Gold Brick." The "4g" cleverly symbolizes the seasons, allowing the tea’s aroma to flow with nature’s rhythms, seamlessly integrating into work, home, and travel.
