This case is the first cultural tourism project of Longfor Properties, and the visitor center is the sales office most closely combined with nature. In addition to the display function of the sales building, it is also the best platform to view the lake. The roof has a strong landscape function, which not only has a sense of sculpture, but meets the sun shading requirements of the local climate. It is like a white leaf, floating quietly on the bank of Fuxian Lake.

The dominant canopy hanging over the entrance is divided into a series of triangular mirror-finished stainless steel panels. These triangle units are arranged slightly offset each other at an angle to create this huge curvature extending forwards. Two significant flowing white walls are stretching from one end to almost the other. They are made of metallic aluminum plates. After more than adequate 3D experiments, these walls are fully evaluated then hollowed out on specific spots.
Due to its complexity of 3D modeling and the final construction. The pressure also comes from the local authority that the architects must keep the pollution at the minimum. Throughout the collaboration with structural engineers, mechanical engineers and material suppliers, the designer insists that the units dimensions should be adjust one by one when it comes to the edge or the curve. In order to achieve the perfection of interior and exterior.
The project started in March 2018 in Yuxi and finished in October 2019 in Yuxi.
In terms of the leaf roofing, the architects have pre-casted the steel sections and then fabricated PTFE fiberglass layers. However, the installing progress of the fiberglass drew another round of experiments on the relationship of connection nodes and plates which they adopted with turnover framework techniques.
Interacting with landscape and interior designers from initial ideas stage, the architects studied several combinations of horizontal and vertical flow lines that enrich the content. Next, taking account of the suggestions from construction consultants, they zoom in the rhino models, deepen the study of the relationship with the exterior and interior. Especially the aluminum plates and the leaf roofing.
Fuxian Lake is a famous and precious conservatory water of my country. When the designer went on his first field trip to the site, he was astonished by its quietness and deepness. Therefore, he use the form of leaf on the site, and keep the arrangement as in-deliberate as possible. Using a soft curve connection that he called Jade ribbon to link adjoin spaces. Besides, huge amount of glazing is put on the ground floor to maintain a see through effect from any angle on the site to lake.
