The design concept utilizes sharing space to create a secret site for children. This project lets them enjoy and look forward to going to the site for learning, experiencing and sharing after school. In order to achieve this goal, we do this project in two parts. First, we organize the parents to design the numerous courses out of the range of the textbooks, such as cooking, pottery, picture book reading, painting, exercising. Second, we refer to these courses to mix into space. The interesting and safe are the main concept in spatial design.
Because of the parents’ working time and competitive kids’ school work, one-third of the students should go to cram school after school until 9 pm in Taiwan. The phenomenon leads to some problems with society and children growing. As a result, we propose the concept of the sharing space to create a place for children activities after school. The place is also used as office space for the parents and it could add more the parent-child time. Different from the studying space in cram school, the course on the site would be held in turns by mothers who have various interests. They would let children study together, experience some artwork and share the living. We designed the cooking space, reading space, picture book space, gaming space, and pottery classroom. This project makes children could really experience and learn the knowledge different from the textbooks and it invite the parents with the same social background to manage this place as mutual caring parent-child space in this modern city living.
Inspired by the social issue of After school time caring for kids ,client is a couple having 2 kids studying in elementary school. They also have to face the problem placing their children after school yet caring their business , rather choosing among with numerous cram school, they decide to utilize an ideal space to create a new sharing space. They also invite several classmates and parents to participate in this project, expecting these interesting spaces present to an after-school secret site for kids enjoying and parents satisfying.
