When you open the "door", you can see the layered packaging of the building blocks. The built-in structure of the package can be taken out as a separate storage box.

Design Challenge
How to convey Chinese traditional Sun Mao and ancient construction culture to consumers, and how to infuse the connotation of products into packaging design? Finally, we choose simple but solemn packaging structure and appealing and instructive graphic design to lead consumers into the world of Sun Mao culture.
Project Duration
The project started in March 2020 and finished in May 2020 in Beijing, China
Operation Flow
The packaging structure adopts the up-bottomcover boxes. Open the upper cover and you will see the "door" with development history of Sun Mao printed on it, the other side of the door is printed with a list of all building block parts. Open the "door" and you will see the layered building block bags. It is easy to operate but has a sense of ritual. The built-in structure of the package can be taken out as a separate storage box, so as to make more use of a box for recycling. Besides the function of storing block bags, it can also solve the storage problems in daily life.
Research
The year 2020 will mark the 600th anniversary of Chinese Royal Architectural Groups, we hope to inject the connotation of the product into the packaging design, so as to convey the Chinese traditional Sun Mao and ancient building culture to consumers and pay tribute to the 600th anniversary.
Inspiration
Based on packaging design concept of “Reproduce the imperial architectural temperament, inherit the essence of Chinese art”, we drew the image of the hall of prayer for good harvest with elaborate lines on the packaging, making every detail of the century-old building vividly appear on the paper. We use the design layout with more white space to neutralize the visual pressure, and use restrained and implicit design techniques to interpret the packaging as an ancient painting.
