The homeowner has a unique fascination with the moon. Thus, the designer suspended a moon-shaped chandelier in the central open space of the room. It serves not only as a lighting element but also as a real moon floating indoors. The designer chose to use cement sculpture techniques to carve the surface of the moon on the main wall of the TV area and master bedroom. This unique decoration adds a different atmosphere to the space, cleverly eliminating vertical and horizontal dividing lines, and constructing a coherent lunar landscape. Reflective materials makes the mysterious beauty of the moon can be seen everywhere in the room.

This residential space is custom-designed exclusively for a married couple, eliminating the need to divide it into multiple rooms during the floor plan. The female homeowner aspired to have a space that matches her unique temperament. In every meeting, the designer keenly sensed the homeowner's distinctive charm, which balances outer strength with inner gentleness. Therefore, this concept became the foundation for the space's design. The space features a black and gold color scheme, streamlined curved designs, and meticulous edge detailing, enhancing its flexibility and diversity.
The design of the TV feature wall in this project differs significantly from traditional approaches. The core idea behind this project is to minimize environmental damage to the Earth, avoiding marble extraction, while bringing the texture of the moon's surface into the home. The designer has employed cutting-edge cement carving techniques, customizing each texture, and actively involving homeowners in the production process to give the piece a unique and distinctive quality.
The project commenced interior design in November 2021, followed by construction in July 2022, and was completed in July 2023 in Taichung City, Taiwan.
To meet various home living needs, a workspace is first planned behind the living room, providing a work area for working from home. Secondly, the establishment of a gym eliminates the need to go out for exercise. Finally, natural light is introduced to create a sunroom where you can comfortably enjoy sunbathing at home. In addition, the space is equipped with the Apple HomeKit smart home system, which interconnects all lighting, audio, and air conditioning appliances, making the living environment more convenient and intelligent, create a seamless living experience.
Transparent Partitions: Allowing natural light and air to flow freely throughout the entire indoor space, creating a bright and well-ventilated environment. Smart Home Integration: Reducing the time and effort needed for device operation, making living more convenient and efficient. Multi-Functional Living: Easily transformable into an office, fitness area, or social hub. Bathroom Design: No longer a simple functional space, but also designed for display. The designer redefines the home experience with the concepts of transparency, intelligence, smart functionality, and versatility.
The moon, the only satellite of the earth, a dim orb in the universe. However, it can be the dazzling presence in the sky through the diffuse reflection effect of sunlight. Designer uses the contrast between black and gold to present the starry night sky. With full moon chandelier placed on the high celling, presents a concept of Chinese poetry of the white jade plate in the night sky. The TV wall and walls in the master bedroom is decorated with relief art concrete wall which mimics the texture of natural rocks. The rugged texture of concrete combined the smooth surface of ceramic tiles, the arch trim of the corner and the soft light of the moon chandelier, makes the space more vivid, also present the owner’s personality, soft on the inside despite her hard shell.
