Residence for Shiang Chi Interior Design
As the name of this project, Madam Platinum, it is a senior residential home made for the retired client couple, as the elegance and serenity of it all epitomize the spatiality of the interior, as well as the personal traits of the clients and their expectation of future. The design team anchored on the creative concept of comfort with taste, safe living space, choosing environmentally friendly materials and adopting modern aesthetics to conceal all preventive facilities in maintaining the refreshing visuals. It has become a favorite gathering space for the family of all generations.

Unique Properties
This project was a tailor made senior home for the retired client, and the design team set out to deliver the creative concept of comfortable yet tasteful residence with modern aesthetics making all preventive facilities invisible, hence giving the inhabitants a comfortable life while the interior has become a favorite gathering space among families and children of different generations.

Design Challenge
As the male and female clients have different expectations in spatial planning and styling, apart from installing safety facilities in the interior environment which was also made aesthetically pleasant. In order to create unconventional senior retirement home, the design team spent over one year in studying the changes faced by senior citizens in everyday life and psychologically, before translating those considerations into design details, in the name of a safe and lively senior home.
Project Duration
The project was finished in December, 2018 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
With wall-like partitioning technique demarcating an independent entrance area, which also provided storage functions, along with a whole row of extended bench seating from the dining area for putting on and off shoes that are also of storage function. The originally oppressive structural columns were complemented by lighting strips, chamfer and decorative items, and have become visually pleasant.
Research
Elegant posture and serene mindset epitomize the outward appearance of the interior, as well as the characteristics of, and personal expectation of the future by, the client. Throughout this project, every need of the client was reviewed, and environmentally friendly building materials were utilized in constructing elegant aesthetic visual, and satisfying the basic conditions of happy and healthy living.
Inspiration
In the face of global problem of aging population, Taiwan is no exception. As the client was facing a new stage of life, the residence design should not just consider all the facilities needed for future senior life, ensuring their safe and practical usage, but also manifesting the unique freedom and vitality of this age group, in contrast to the stereotypical visual perception of senior home.
