Guava, Farmers, Popsicle, Food, Ugly Monster
"Ugly Monster" is a very authentic character with the green color and rugged surface, inspired by guava, a local fruit in Taiwan. "Ugly Monster" is full of excitement and energy to show itself to the world, as the metaphor that farmers did hard work for the best quality and expected more people to notice. Fluorescent green granted the character feeling of positive energy, authenticity and amazement. Unbalanced ratio between body and legs, and two legs without hands, aligned with characteristics of Ugly Monster as funny and furious.
The project started in June 2019 and finished in December 2019 in Taiwan.
The design team aimed to create a fun way as the bridge between young people and tradition culture of a small town.
