Premium Spirit, Cachaca, Brazilian Premium Experience, Brazilian Heritage
Produced from pottery as traditional process of filling bottle back to the 16th century. The ceramic use, brings benefits in socioeconomic and sustainability terms. Initially, the local production stimulates economy, creating jobs, generating wealth and technological evolution. In addition, the dry firing process uses prepared clay with carbonate-free mass, recycled, consumes 25 percent less resources during firing and combined to natural drying, allows the generation of carbon credits.
The use of design to innovate over unconventional logistics. The main concept is to use the design process to create meaning innovation, and the triangular neckless shape saves volumetric space. This process demonstrates the design power in benefits of the business strategy, adding value, expanding the product margins and helping to increase the product profitability. Also the tradition heritage rescue is an important differential during this process that shows the best of Brazil to the world.
The project started in July 2020 in Curitiba, Brazil and finishes in February 2021. All project and developments has been made in Brazil with local resources and raw materials.
The triangular neckless shape allows the intelligent use of spaces. The surfaces contact allows a perfect fit and reduces the empty spaces among bottles, increasing the logistic capacity up to 42 percent. The design allows the material reduction, decreasing the bottle weight. The use of resources improvement grants efficiency on the life cycle, where less weight and space used for transportation decrease the use of secondary resources, such as carbon emission during transportation or packaging use.

Steps: Research (map and understand), Conceptualize (alternative generation), Visualize (renderings), Realize (prototype) and Implement.
Cachaca, a sugar cane distilled spirit, is the first industrial product in colonial Brazil and until today, considered the most Brazilian of all products. Between generation, the memory of Armindas, immigrant workforce symbol, recounts the Brazilian economic cycle since the 16th century and brings the historic product heritage to the present days. This historic weight is recreated through design, bringing those concepts to the contemporary world, in a mix of traditionalism and innovation.
