Wherever there is football, there is Pepsi. The brand wanted to celebrate the Big Football Event in 2022 i in Qatar, the first time ever hosted by an Arab country , with an unexpected Pepsi twist. The brand was not an official sponsor, but still wanted to make its presence known for this landmark event, and so it required a creative strategy to design limited time offer (LTO) packaging, key visuals, and animations that would capture all the excitement of local football fans.

The brand wanted to celebrate the “Big Football Event (BFE)” in 2022 i in Qatar - the first time ever hosted by an Arab country - with an unexpected Pepsi twist. The brand wasn’t an official sponsor, but still wanted to make its presence known for this landmark event, and so it required a creative strategy to design limited time offer (LTO) packaging, key visuals, and animations that would capture all the excitement of local football fans.
The Design Team opted to feature football fans themselves on pack, depicting the intense joy felt throughout a match and their insatiable thirst to see their team win. Beginning by shooting photographs of real talents with different nationalities, the Design Team then applied paint filters to nod to the practice of fans face-painting during a match, as well as to give the images an overall artistic look and feel.
Pepsi Big Football Event LTO Beverage Packaging has been a Silver winner in the Packaging Design award category in the year 2023 organized by the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition. The Silver A' Design Award celebrates top-tier designs that embody excellence and innovation. This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design.
